The Center for 17th-Century Colonial and Native New England Studies

The Center for 17th-Century Colonial and Native New England Studies

A new highly energetic hub of public history, research and discovery, The Center for 17th-Century Colonial and Native New England Studies will build on Plimoth Plantation’s ongoing partnerships and collaborations with colleges and universities, artisanal and trade schools, Native community leaders, research centers and museums across the country.

The Center, a residence in need of renovation, and currently located on the Museum’s campus, will house visiting scholars-in-residence, undergraduate interns and graduate fellows who are advancing 17th-century scholarship and its influence on our Nation’s founding ideologies, writings, and early government structure. These emerging scholars are the future of Plimoth Plantation and are the key to ensuring that the Museum’s legacy of experimental archaeology, public history, and pioneering research continues for future generations.

Goal: $1,500,000
